Livigno, Italy

Livigno (1816m) is a year-round Alpine destination and one of the main winter resorts in the Alps. Its geographical position, together with its high altitudes, makes Livigno a winter paradise with heavy snowfalls from late November until early May. An extensive network of snow making facilities, covering up to 70% of the terrain, ensures that the ski areas always retain perfect conditions. Furthermore Livigno is known for its status as a tax-free area.

Just arrived yesterday and there is lots of snow and sunshine – I love this place! My third visit – lots of things to do – tomorrow they promise lots of snow – can’t wait!

Crappy start on the season 2017 with limited snow coverage – certainly hope it will get better soon. 16 Jan today and only some 50 cm of snow 🙁

Just back from Livigno – been here 3 times and never been disappointed! Plenty of snow, plenty of sun and I just love the city center with all the great shops, cafe’s and restaurants. It is probably one of the top 3 reports in Europe in my opinion! 5 stars from me!

We have been to Livigno 5 times and it is simply the best place! We have always had really sunny weather, perfect snow (and lots of it!) and the town is just so much more than what is normal for ski resorts. I can’t remember excactly the background but there is something about Livigno being the destination with most hours of sunny weather – you can probably google it and read more about it. Anyway – 5 stars from me!

if nothing else go here for the cheap booze 😉

Hey Livigno is not that far from Slovakia but the resort is much better than what I have tried here. It was my first trip to Italy and I am coming back for sure. You can ski all day in the sun because of the two mountain sides. Livigno before lunch and mottolino after lunch. TOP rating from me!

I know it might seem strange not to focus on the snow and the trails in a review but when we visited Livigno we was just so positive surprised by the town itself. There are so much activity, so many shops, so many restaurants… in all this is what makes Livigno better than other places as you will find so much more to do than just the skiing. And by the way – the skiing is great too 🙂
